Vitria – recommendations for use and dosage
The main component of Vitria is Vardenafil HCl. The drug is easily absorbed directly into the vascular system, causing a faster effect that lasts for 12 hours. It is recommended for patients with swallowing difficulties as Vitria easily dissolves. Its active substance, Vardenafil, is a phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitor which helps support blood flow to the penis. The medication does not work without sexual stimulation.
Dosage and Direction
One strip contains 10 mg of Vardenafil. Take Vitria at least 15-30 minutes before sexual activity.
Precautions
Before taking Vitria, inform your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, a bleeding disorder, stomach ulcer, or an inherited retinal disorder such as retinitis pigmentosa. Also inform if you have allergies to this medicine or any other medicines, or if you have deformations of the penis such as angulation, cavernous fibrosis (Peyronie’s disease), or diseases that contribute to the development of priapism (sickle-cell anemia, multiple myeloma, leukemia).
Contraindications
Do not use Vitria in patients with hypersensitivity to its ingredients, those treated with organic nitrates, patients under 16 years old, or those taking HIV protease inhibitors such as indinavir and ritonavir.
Possible Side Effects
Rare side effects may include headache, pain in the back muscles or joints, upset stomach, sensitivity of the eye to sunlight, and high or low blood pressure. If you experience priapism (erections lasting longer than four hours), seek medical care immediately as this condition, if untreated, may cause permanent damage to your penis.
Drug Interaction
Vitria’s metabolism is inhibited by erythromycin, ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), indinavir (Crixivan), and ritonavir (Norvir). It reduces the concentration of ritonavir and indinavir. In patients treated with nitrates, Vitria may aggravate chest pain by increasing heart rate and lowering blood pressure. Vitria can exaggerate the blood pressure-lowering effects of alpha-blocking drugs (terazosin, tamsulosin, prazosin, or Hytrin). Vitria should not be administered to patients treated with organic nitrates such as amyne nitrite or glyceryl trinitrate.
Missed Dose
The medication is taken when needed. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
Overdose
In case of suspected overdose, seek urgent medical attention.
Storage
Keep at room temperature in a dry, tight container out of reach of children and pets. Do not use after the expiration term, and throw away any unused medicine.
